By understanding my brainwaves and how they relate to your daily experiences, i’ll gained valuable insights into my own mental state. This empowers me to optimize my activities for peak performance and overall well-being.

Identifying My Behavioral Patterns

Patterns: I tend to be more focused (Beta) in the evening and night and drowsy (Theta) in the afternoons.

Activities: Evening exercise and tea break trigger brainwave states. Exercise increase your Beta waves (alertness).

Well-being: Maintaining a balance between these states contribute to my overall well-being.

Brainwave Stages

Five stages make a Cycle

Multiple stages in a Cycle

Findings

Our sleep cycles are like mini journeys! Each cycle lasts about 90 minutes and takes us through five stages. First, we drift into a light sleep (NREM 1) where we can still be awakened by a sound. Then, we sink deeper into NREM 2, where brainwaves slow and our bodies prepare for restoration. NREM 3 brings the deepest sleep, vital for physical renewal. Finally, REM sleep arrives, characterized by rapid eye movement and dream activity. These stages repeat throughout the night, with more REM sleep occurring in the later cycles, leaving us feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

SPECTRUM

The Brainwave

This project embarks on a journey of self-discovery by analyzing your brain activity throughout the day. We'll categorize brainwaves into five distinct phases based on their dominant frequencies which are Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta and correlate them with your corresponding feelings such as excited, active, relaxed, drowsy, and sleepy. This introspective analysis will shed light on the internal state and how it fluctuates across the day.

A state of intense focus, excitement.

Gamma

>30 Hz

A state of active engagement.

13-30 Hz

Beta

A relaxed and alert state.

8-12 Hz

Alpha

A drowsy or daydreamy state.

4-7 Hz

Theta

A state of deep sleep.

1-3 Hz

The Zen of Zzz's

While you rest everynight, your brain is in overdrive. The idea of a sleep is simple, but what your body actually goes through is fairly complex. This process facilitate memory consolidation, aids in bodily repair and recharge our energy levels among other things. It is one of the few experiences that everyone in the world can relate to. While the true need for sleep is still unknown, it's functions are being continuously recorded and studied.
