A pilot version of the installation was tested in the class among our faculty and batch mates.
The initial version was done using three illustrations focusing on the different perceptions

Data Collection methods
The idea was to derive interactive activities to collect data on body perceptions of individuals in the campus. The activities were split so as to gather both quantitative and qualitative data.


Activity 1: Body Perseption
A set of 9 illustrations that depicts body perceptions and activities. The participants are to take the colour ball/stick that denotes their gender and put the sticks inside the transparent box under whichever illustration they relate to


Activity 2: I’m Tired of hearing...
It consists of a semi enclosed space that has a sheet with the title written on it. This activity provides a platform to share the comments/opinions that participants are tired of hearing about their by writing it on the sheet.


Activity 3: Throw your insecurities
This activity aims to bring out what a person’s insecurity is apart from what they hear from others by writing it on the provided piece of paper and putting it inside the box.
Body Positivity
Body positivity is a broad spectrum that focuses on an individual’s conception and awareness on their body. In the era of social media beauty standards it is necessary to understand body perceptions among the population with special reference to the college community that encompass a range of age group.
Project Goal
The project aims to conduct a data collection survey on body positivity to understand the perceptions, attitudes, and experiences related to body image among college students.Collect data on how many college students struggle with feeling good about their bodies and why. Understand what makes some students feel bad about their bodies and how it affects their happiness and mental health. The goal is to develop strategies and interventions to help students feel better about themselves & improve the overall mental health well-being and self-esteem of students.
Why Body Positivity?
Create a platform for introspection about body perceptions The body image concerns are prevalent among college students, with societal pressures, media representations, and peer influences often contribute to negative perceptions of one's body. It addresses body image issues and can have a significant impact on mental health, academic performance, and overall well-being among college students. Additionally, body positivity is a growing movement & advocate people for acceptance and appreciation of all body types, it challenges narrow beauty standards, and promotes self-love and self-acceptance.
